Simpson Falls is a cracking little walk tucked away near Mt Cootha. Less than a kilometre to the falls and you'll be standing beneath a proper waterfall—beauty of a spot. The track's a mixed bag underfoot, so watch where you're treading (I once tripped on a root thinking about lunch, don't be like me). Quick enough for a morning wander, and you'll feel like you've actually earned that view. Perfect if you're after something short and sweet without the full mountain commute.
