The word on it
What locals actually say — not a press release.
The Platypus Walk is a ripper of a short stroll through some beaut native bushland, and if you're lucky, you might spot a platypus having a swim. It's only about 1.8 kilometres one way, so perfect for a quick outing when you haven't got all day. The track's got a bit of everything underfoot — hardened sections mixed with some rougher patches — and there's a fair chance you'll see other wildlife too. Fair dinkum, I nearly tripped on a gnarled root last time, but the scenery makes up for it.
