Getting on the water in Gold Coast
From calm Broadwater cruises to surf lessons, jet boats, fishing charters and private sails — Gold Coast runs on its water, and most of it can be browsed right here.
Most experiences leave from the Broadwater, Main Beach or Surfers Paradise marinas, which makes it easy to pair a morning on the water with lunch nearby. Every operator below has its own page with times, prices and booking.
What water activities are good for families?
Calm-water options — Broadwater cruises, kayak tours and boat hire — suit most ages, and several operators run family pricing. Each operator's page lists minimum ages where they set one.
What can I do if I don't want to swim?
Plenty stays dry: sightseeing cruises, fishing charters, boat hire and whale watching in season all keep you on deck rather than in the water.
When is whale-watching season?
Humpbacks pass the Gold Coast on their migration roughly June to November. Outside those months, whale-watching trips don't run — the cruise operators below switch to their other tours.
